Nanya, Kingston and expect that in the third quarter demand for DRAM chips type outpace supply due to seasonal factors. This in turn can enhance the memory prices.
Kingston did not comment on rumors about the existence of problems in SK Hynix with the installation of equipment that affects the supply and cost of memory chips. Meanwhile, the company notes that in the third quarter, prices will tend to rise. In addition, sales of flash memory in the second quarter, too, will grow as smartphone makers will seek to replenish stocks of components for new devices planned for the second half.
Nanya notes the increased number of orders from customers and believes that prices for memory chips for mobile and consumer electronics will grow by up to 10% in the third quarter.
