Almost a year ago we first looked under the cover of one of the heat spreader processors Ivy Bridge-E . In mid-September Ivy Bridge-E series processors will be replaced by Haswell-E, which will bring in the desktop segment not only DDR4 memory support , but also offer the presence of eight cores in the most advanced configuration.
Here is processor Core i7-5960X after removing the cover. First, in the inner portion of the cover layer , the solder is visible.
Actually a crystal may contain twelve cores, whereas the model Core i7-5960X on the documents has only eight core.
