Designers of Scotland, inspired by cult epic fantastic saga Star Wars, created 3D-display, which is able to project the image in the air. In development they spent about eight years.
Artists Chris Helson and Sarah Jackets unveiled a prototype device called Help Me Obi. With this 3D-display can project an image in air of up to 300 mm. However, to call it a full hologram is impossible.
It's not really 3D-hologram. We use the term holographic to describe a device that creates a 360-degree moving objects in space. User is able to walk around the unit and see the object from any position,- say the creators of the unique device.
Help Me Obi until now is only a prototype, but the developers are considering the establishment of a commercial product, for which funding is requested. It is worth noting that such a device can find a variety of applications. For example, it can be used in various presentations to demonstrate the 3D-drawings, designs in CAD and other graphical models.
