Chinese manufacturers of smartphones can initiate patent war in the home market. It is reported by the Taiwanese publication DigiTimes citing industry sources.
According to the newspaper, Huawei and ZTE have started to take legal measures against its competitors, such as Xiaomi Technology, Oppo and Vivo. Both of these companies that are leading suppliers of telecommunications equipment in China and the global telecom market, have already formed their own patent portfolios. Even more patent assets are and at Lenovo. But Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Gionee and K-Touch are the most vulnerable in patent disputes, since they do not have such patent portfolios.
Sources added that by the patent war Huawei and ZTE wants to bring back its market share, which Xiaomi captured . Moreover, the latter has been recently recognized as the third largest producer of smartphones in the world.
