In 2012, the market was dominated by models of tablet computers with screen sizes greater than nine inches, they accounted for more than 60% of the total number of units sold.  But in 2013 the trend changed most in demand for tablets with 7 - and 7.9-inch screens in the first quarter  tablets sold 35% and 15% of the total, respectively. 
According to research agency DisplaySearch , in the third quarter  this year, the position of small form factors tablet will be strengthened even more.  This is due to the desire of major manufacturers - Acer, ASUS, Dell and Lenovo - to present a model with eight-inch screen whose resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels.  Analysts suggest that their share in the total sales of tablets will reach 10.5% by the end of the year. 
Also in the fourth quarter, Apple will release an updated version of the iPad mini with a 7.9-inch screen (1024 x 768 pixels).  Tablet Apple A6 processor receives the operating system  iOS 7, moreover, it becomes thinner and lighter than its predecessor.  Experts believe that the model of iPad mini with a screen size QXGA (2048 x 1536 pixels) did not go into production until early 2014.
