In the middle of last month, Intel released the 910 series SSDs in the format of an expansion card PCI Express, designed for high-performance servers and storage systems. The device is available in versions 400 GB (two PCBs) and 800GB (three) and supports up to eight PCI Express 2.0 lines with a capacity of up to 4 GB / s.  The controller uses four discrete SAS, each communicates with IC 14 HET (High Endurance Technology) MLC NAND, made on 25 nm process . Drive endurance is estimated at 14 petabytes of rewritable data (about 18 million full rewrites of 800 GB). SAS controllers are combined in a common pool of RAID-0 is the software method.  Specialists checked the performance of SSD 910 compared to competing solutions from other companies. At a relatively low price for SSD with PCI Express interface (less than $ 5 per gigabyte), it demonstrates high performance for work with databases and other applications that require large speed of processing transactions.
